Comm Engine Jeff

Why did you apply for the Commercialization Engine Internship? I applied to the Comm Engine Internship to gain a new perspective on research at Notre Dame outside of the research lab I work in during the academic year. I wanted to learn about the methodology around bringing a technology to market. In addition, estimating market size, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities within a technical field fascinate me.

What team are you working on? I am on the Risk Assessment Team.

What project are you working on? This summer, I've had the opportunity to work on various projects, including 6G communication technologies, methods for modularized construction, and tissue engineering.

Describe your overall internship experience: My experience this summer has been great! I have enjoyed working on such diverse technologies with a supportive team at the IDEA Center.

What has been your biggest takeaway from the internship? Successful companies do not simply create products. They build solutions to their customer's problems.

Fun fact about you: At home, I eat fresh eggs from the chickens we raise in our backyard every morning.
