Why did you apply to work for Race To Revenue? What are you hoping to get out of this experience? I applied to Race To Revenue because of the opportunities to enhance my knowledge of prototyping digital media start-ups. I took a class last spring called Media Entrepreneurship, and through that class, I learned that I have a passion for UI/UX design. As a graphic design major, I was also drawn to the branding and graphic design work I would do with student entrepreneurs to help them with their businesses. I hope to learn more and feel confident in UI/UX design going beyond this internship, and I hope to make an impact on the startups involved in the program.

When is a time you failed forward? I remember when I began applying to art schools for college, I got a few rejections, and I felt really discouraged. As an artist, you want other people to like your work, but I quickly realized that art is subjective–not everyone will like my work, but that doesn't mean I don't belong in an art school. I continued working on my portfolio and pushed myself to step outside of the box to tap into potential I didn't even know I had, and eventually, the acceptance letters started coming in.

Where were you born? What is an interesting fact about your hometown? I was born and raised in Naperville, IL. A fun fact about Naperville is that it has its own man-made public beach.

Would you rather go back in time or be transported to the future? I would rather be transported to the future; I don't like surprises, so knowing what is coming ahead would make me feel more comfortable and aware of handling things.

Who is the fictional character you have the most in common with, and why? I think I have the most in common with Chandler from Friends because I feel like we have similar humor.

Lastly, what do you want to learn more about, relating to business development in general or your own company/venture specifically? I want to learn more about the back end of prototyping apps, specifically regarding coding.
