Describe your company:Lending Layer provides a means for companies seeking a loan or investment to securely share their data with a financial institution. We provide our service to the financier, which helps streamline their decision-making process, reduce their operational expenditure, and increase their dealflow.”

Why did you apply to Race to Revenue, and what are you hoping to get out of the experience?A product is nothing without a market that is willing to pay for it. My goal is to close customers and grow revenue in order to secure further investment down the road and continue to build out the product.”  

How have you been helped so far in your venture, and what sort of mentoring are you looking for in the future? The IDEA Center’s commercialization team and the ESTEEM Graduate Program staff have both been very helpful. I've received input on problem validation, go-to-market strategies, product development, as well as investment advice. It's been a full team effort, and everyone's input has helped push me through each individual milestone so far.”

What do you want to learn more about, relating to business development in general or your own company/venture specifically? “How to build a successful sales pipeline, and onboarding pilot customers effectively in order to convert them into paying customers.”

Fun fact: “I am a big tech guy, but I would also love to sell funky sock designs online to mix it up.”

Favorite place to get tacos: “I’ve been keeping Chipotle in business for years.”
