Julier2r

Describe your company: Soteria Flooring is developing a dual stiffness safety floor to reduce the impact of falls for those who suffer the most in our society.

Target Industry: Senior homeowners and new construction and retrofit assisted living facilities.

What is your role in the company, and please list team members' names and their current role in the company: I am the COO of the company. We also have Dr. Tim Ovaert — mechanical and aerospace engineering professor at Notre Dame. He is the inventor and provides technical support.

Why did you apply to Race To Revenue? What are you hoping to get out of this experience? I applied to Race to Revenue so that I could be part of a community of entrepreneurs who are also on their own entrepreneurial journeys. I'm excited for the community, and leveraging that when I am faced with challenges or some stumbling blocks. I also applied to learn and be supported by folks at the Idea Center who are experienced and knowledgeable in this field. I am hoping to learn as much as I can from both my coaches and colleagues, and iron out a lot of the unknowns of my business so that I build a robust product, business model & go to market strategy.

Has there been someone who has helped you with your venture so far? Kunci Szentes, Ellen Dutton and Ben Hoggan have all helped to date.

What do you want to learn more about, relating to business development in general or your own company/venture specifically? I want to dig deeper into my customer & understand my customer as well as quantifying the value proposition for them. I want to understand what it means to have a business model centered around a licensing agreement and how to de-risk the business model as much as possible so that it is a no-brainer for investors.

Fun fact: I love to sail.
