Audrey Beckman
Audrey Beckman is partner and chief innovation officer at Boomerang Studio. In this role, she brings healthcare ideas to life by identifying new value drivers, de-risking key uncertainties, and providing necessary resources to first-time founders, universities, corporate clients, and healthcare systems.
For over 35 years Beckman’s professional focus has been the life sciences space, first in medical devices with Zimmer, Inc and now with Boomerang Studio based in Indianapolis, along with board and advisor roles with multiple life science start-ups.
After joining Zimmer, Inc. as an entry-level product development engineer, Beckman designed numerous knee implant and instrumentation systems before taking her first management role. She held global leadership roles in product development, marketing, medical training and education, and strategic quality initiatives. During her tenure leading a product development pipeline of over 100 simultaneous projects, Zimmer grew sales of new products from 17 to 23% of total revenue.
Beckman is a named inventor on six patents for orthopaedic devices and remains grateful for having been part of a company and industry that has helped millions of patients live fuller lives.
Beckman holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Ball State University.
