Speakers

 

Brad Gurasich, CFA

Brad Gurasich is a Vice President and Principal for The Catalyst Group and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities, structuring and negotiating transactions, leading due diligence and managing portfolio investments.

Brad is an experienced financial analyst and investment strategist. Prior to joining The Catalyst Group, he was the CFO and Investment Analyst for Goshawk Global Investments, LLC, an equity investment manager based in Austin, Texas. Brad previously served as Senior Finance Manager for Alta Colleges, Inc., a private post-secondary education company, and as an Investment Banking Analyst for the global and industrial services group at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Brad earned a BBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a CFA charter holder and serves on the boards of Rochal Industries, LLC, Aviditi Advisors, and YPS Anesthesia.  Brad is a member of the Finance Advisory Committee serving the Ascension Texas board.  

He lives with his wife and three daughters in Austin.

Dan Kervick

Dan is from Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  He is married to Lauren Kervick, a former fellow naval intelligence officer.  They have three daughters, Charlotte (5), Caroline (3) and Madeleine (4 months). After founding and selling a start-up, Dan began his military career at US  Navy Officer Candidate School.  He  was deployed twice to the Middle East as an Intelligence Officer with US Navy SEAL Teams 3 and 7 in support of global counter-terrorism operations.  His other assignments included Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command where he focused on Chinese and North Korean naval capabilities, and Kennedy Irregular Warfare Center at the Office of Naval Intelligence.

Following the Navy, Dan founded Flagship Management, a technology-enabled healthcare equipment management company whose social mission is to create jobs with upward mobility for military veterans. Flagship Management utilizes field service,  distribution and analytics to take control of healthcare equipment for healthcare and rehabilitation providers.  Flagship is headquartered in Bristol, PA. Flagship's roots trace back to Dan Kervick Sr's sole proprietorship that he operated out of the Kervick family basement in Feasterville, PA for Dan Jr's whole life.  Today, Flagship employs 70+ employees and operates nationally.

Dan’s educational experience includes:  Villanova University - BA Economics; University of Notre Dame - MS Technology Commercialization; Harvard University - John F. Kennedy School of Government - MPA.  He was a Black Family Fellow within the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is on the Board of Advisors for Enlighten Mobility, a rehabilitation device startup, and the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization.

Quality of Sobriety

Quality of Sobriety is a relapse prevention software application for people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The startup uses machine learning to help drug and alcohol addiction patients by predicting a relapse before it happens. It pulls together the patient's recovery team to help the patient in the most effective ways possible by giving the recovery team unbiased data and insights about the patient's behavior and alerting them that an intervention is needed.
